PONDICHERRY: Pondicherry State Janata Dal (Secular) president E. Ganesan said here on Wednesday that his party would have alliance with the front formed by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Puduchery Munnetra Congress (PMC) in the forthcoming Assembly polls here. He said in a release that a delegation of the party had met the party leader and former Prime Minister H D. Deve Gowda and apprised him of the decision for such an alliance. The party functionaries were also holding talks with the leaders of the AIADMK and PMC in Pondicherry as a follow up of the decision. Mr. Ganesan also appealed to the CPI and CPI (Marxist) parties here to pull out of the Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) and join the front that was opposed to the Congress. Volunteers of his party would stage a picketing at the Assembly on Friday to bring to focus the various shortcomings and failures of the Congress Government here in measuring up to the expectations of the people and also those affected by tsunami and other natural calamities.
