Dharmapuri: Loan assistance will be given to unemployed youth under the self-employment scheme to buy autorickshaws.

The Tamil Nadu Transport Development Corporation in association with banks will disburse loans to selected beneficiaries, said the Collector, M. Chandrasekaran.

Driving licence

Based on the Scheme, an amount of Rs. 25,000 or 25 per cent of the auto cost (whichever is less) would be provided as subsidy to the beneficiaries.

The applicant should be above 20 years of age with driving licence for Light Commercial Vehicles. The applicant should not be owner of any other transport vehicle.

Relevant documents

The annual income of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 36,000 and should not be a beneficiary under any other Government scheme.

Those eligible are requested to submit their application forms attached with documents, income certificate.

A demand draft of Rs. 300 drawn from any nationalised bank at the Regional Transport Office in Dharmapuri should also be enclosed.

Applications

The Collector would forward the applications to the banks concerned after perusal. The applicant should open an account by depositing 10 per cent of the total cost of the vehicle in the banks concerned.
