`No move to change GNSS canal alignment'

HYDERABAD: The Superintending Engineer of Galeru Nagari Srujala Sravanthi (GNSS) project has clarified that there was no proposal to change canal alignment and to remove three reservoirs from Puttur Assembly constituency in Chittoor district from the scope of the project.

Responding to a recent statement by Congress MLA from Puttur G. Muddukrishnama Naidu at Tirupati, he said about seven reservoirs have been proposed for the district including in Puttur and no Government Order has been released to exclude any of them.

He said there was an error regarding these three reservoirs in the GO No. 15, issued on January 7, this year, meant for entrusting work for preparation of reports to Agriculture Finance Corporation (AFC).
