ONGOLE: District Collector B. Udaya Lakshmi has asked Mandal Development Officers (MDOs) to finalise the list of beneficiaries for housing under Indiramma programme by February 27 to help the Government accord administrative sanction for the same by March 15. Addressing a review meeting on Wednesday, she said all eligible families should be provided with pucca houses in selected villages and care taken to see that no ineligible person gets benefited. She said that Mandal Revenue Officers and MDOs would be held responsible for any lapses in identification of beneficiaries. As the Government had taken up a massive programme to provide pucca house to every eligible family in the State in the next three years, she said that there would be spurt in demand for building material. She wanted unemployed youth to make use of the opportunity and set up units like brick- making, cement doors and windows, transportation of materials by mini-trucks or tractors under Rajiv Yuvasakthi programme. She said that there was need to set up 100 brick making units costing Rs. 1 lakh each and five units for making cement grills for doors and windows costing Rs. 3 lakhs each. There would be demand for 56 transport vehicles costing Rs. 3 lakhs each and 84 units for providing centering material costing Rs. 3 lakhs each.
