JAIPUR : The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) kicked off its series of road shows for auction of properties with the first exhibition held in New Delhi on Wednesday, drawing an overwhelming response from nearly 300 builders, colonisers and realtors. The series of 10 road shows will be organised in metros and mini-metros across the country to attract investors to the properties worth crores of rupees being auctioned for residential, commercial, institutional and ecological projects in the Pink City. The JDA Commissioner, Jagdish Chandra, who was present at the show along with senior officials, informed the potential investors after a multimedia presentation that several mega projects, such as Ring Road and Ghat Ki Guni, were coming up in the Rajasthan capital. He assured the builders of making available all relevant infrastructures, should they decide on Jaipur as their next investment destination. Mr. Chandra also spoke about the residential schemes, resorts and farmhouses coming up in the Jaipur region and invited all investors to Jaipur with their projects. The JDA has earned a record Rs. 632.54 crores by auction of properties during the past seven months and has set the target for this year at Rs. 1,000 crores. Mr. Chandra said these funds would be utilised for development of roads, fly-overs, over-bridges, parks, etc. in the capital city.Following the establishment of a "land bank'' of the size of approximately 56,000 bighas, the JDA claims to have the capacity to provide land in Jaipur for all types of development. Mr. Chandra said the land bank would be promoted through the series of road shows in the metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad, among others. The range, type and availability of properties will be presented to investors through multimedia presentations and question and answer sessions during the shows.
