Postal services at doorstep

VIJAYAWADA: Here is some good news for those who prefer to use the age-old conventional postal system, but have no time to walk up to a post office to post a letter or buy stamps.

The Department of Posts has introduced a new facility called `Picking of mail through postmen from customers at their premises'. These services will now be available through the postman who comes to customer's doorstep every day. The postman will pick up ordinary mail from customer's premises, book speed post articles and issue necessary receipts. The postmen will also sell stamps and stationery while on their beat.
