National technical symposium from March 3 to 7
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI:
The Society of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SEEE) at the College of Engineering, Guindy, is hoping to `make a mark among technocrats of the nation' during the first week of March with `WAVES 2006'.
The annual national technical symposium has attracted up to 1,000 students to participate in the various events and catch up with current research, say organisers.
The last edition of WAVES saw presentation of 40 papers and 20 projects.
This year, several workshops and events have been lined up from March 3 to 7. There is a workshop on Analog Circuit Design to help avoid common practical problems. A workshop on robotics will bring together elements of mechanical and electrical design, controls, logical design, measurements and instrumentation.
Sessions on power systems and control systems have been scheduled to discuss the latest trends in the respective areas.
A student-industry interface will have students interacting with industry delegates to help increase their awareness of industry needs.
The general quiz, crossword and dumb charades will provide a break from tech talk. Besides these, events include paper presentations, project demonstrations, digital design, 8085 programming, math modelling, circuit debugging and LAN games.
For information, contact SEEE at 30924092.
