Vehicle sales cross two million mark

MUMBAI: Bajaj Auto Ltd. has announced that it crossed the two million mark in vehicle sales and expects to close the year with sales of 2.2 million vehicles against 1.6 million units in the previous year.

Total two and three wheeler sales this year grew at 24 per cent led by motorcycles, which has been growing at 31 per cent compared to the industry growth of 18.5 per cent. The company plans to introduce a new bike in the value segment in the coming quarter. This will be followed by launch of four new products, both in the ungeared scooters and motorcycle categories in fiscal 2006-07.

The company is planning to expand its manufacturing capacity for both existing and new motorcycle models next year.
