Small screen technicians thank CM

CHENNAI:
The Federation of Small Screen Technicians, Tamil Nadu, has thanked Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for announcing the institution of awards for television programmes from next year.
In a statement, the federation said that when their representatives handed over Rs.5 lakhs for the Public Relief Fund to her last year after the tsunami tragedy they had requested her to institute the State awards for small screen artists and technicians. The Chief Minister had then told them that she would consider their request. They had followed this up with a letter addressed to her.
The federation president, Viduthalai, said that they were thankful to the Chief Minister for making the announcement now.
