THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mobile phone service provider Airtel plans to extend its network coverage to 30 more townships in South Kerala by April this year, the company's chief operating officer for the State Ramgopal Vallath has said. At a press conference here on Thursday, he said Airtel presently covered more than 100 towns and locations in South Kerala. The new townships being added to the network include Vellarada, Panachamoode, Kallara, Pathanapuram, Ezhukone, Anchal, Kodumon, Elanthur, Vadasserrikara, Enathu, Aimanam, Uzhavur and Muttachira. Airtel network covers over 370 towns and locations in Kerala and it has more than six lakh mobile phone subscribers, Mr. Ramgopal said. The rural areas of the State were opening up in a big way.
