Cast: Harrison Ford, Paul Bettany and Virginia Madsen Harrison Ford is living proof of the fact that we are all just human in the end. Watching Firewall I suddenly got the distinct feeling I was watching a retired superhero, who would take off his cape to reveal a balding head and sagging gut. He plays an information security nerd who must hack into his own system and steal $100 million to save his family in this thriller that feels like a cheesy replay of Air Force One and Clear and Present Danger. Of course, Ford isn't balding yet, but he might as well be because age has begun to show in every other way. In the various fight sequences, for example, you can almost hear his joints creak as he pretends to still be able to throw a punch and take it. He stumbles through the entire film with a single expression an unwavering glare. And the plot lacks everything a good thriller needs menacing bad guys, volatile situations and suspense. The end result is 105 minutes of clichés, predictable plot twist, a hero in a mid-life crisis and a very loud and painful escapade that ties them together rather poorly.
