Dhaka: At least 16 persons were killed and as many as 45 feared trapped when a five-storey building housing shops and offices collapsed here on Saturday. Soldiers, police, fire officials and volunteers rushed to the scene to pull out victims trapped under the caved-in Phoenix Building in the city's congested Tejgaon industrial area. Officials and witnesses said the under renovation building, housing a garments unit and several other shops and businesses, suddenly caved in after a big noise with almost 100 workers inside. ``We have so far recovered 16 bodies,'' an official said.
