Tamil Nadu Indira Congress Pondy convener

Special Correspondent

Pondicherry: P. Selvam, a former Congress activist here, said on Saturday that he had been appointed convener of the Pondicherry State unit of the Tamil Nadu Indira Congress, recently floated by Tindivanam K. Ramamurthi in the neighbouring State.

Addressing newsmen here, Mr. Selvam said a meeting of the party workers would be held here at which Mr. Ramamurthi would participate.

He said the party would work out an alliance with the front comprising the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and the Puduchery Munnetra Congress (PMC).

He alleged that those who put in hard work were left in the cold in the Congress here.

The workers' meeting would formalise the launching of Pondicherry unit of the Tamil Nadu Indira Congress, he said.
