KOZHIKODE: The quiz programme was a big draw on the third day of `Ragam '06,' the annual cultural extravaganza of the National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NIT-C) being held on the NIT-C campus near here. The NIT-C won the contest by beating Government Medical College in a nail-biting finish. The contestants were selected after a tough preliminary round. Dr. Kishore Chandran was the quizmaster. Later, the students took off on a lighter beat at a `face painting competition'. The- mes for this competition included `Geisha', `National Integrati on' and the Rubik Cube, which is the mascot for `Ragam' this year. The `Duplicate' event where the participants impressed the audience with their in-beat dance synchronization was also a big draw. `Pot-Pourri' tested the participants for their witty introduction and their ability to spoof real life situation in the most humorous way. NIT-Calicut was comfortably in the lead with 366 points while Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram (MBCET) was in second place with 102 points. NIT, Trichy is in third place with 70 points. At the time of going to press, the NIT-C was comfortably in the lead with 366 points while Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram (MBCET) was in second place with 102 points.
