Government to clear all hurdles for funding Kannur Sports Complex

OFFICIAL KICK-OFF: Minister for Sports and Culture Dominic Presentation playing with a football after inaugurating new track and field at the Municipal Jawahar Stadium in Kannur on Sunday.

KANNUR: Sports and Fisheries Minister Dominic Presentation has said that the Government will try to clear all obstacles to releasing funds for the proposed Kannur Sports Complex at Mundayad.

Inaugurating the renovated track and field of the Municipal Jawahar Stadium here on Sunday, Mr. Presentation said that the Government would accelerate efforts to ensure that the funds for the sports complex were cleared by March 15 before the election code of conduct would come into effect.

K. Sudhakaran, MLA, presided over the function. The proposal for the sports complex had been made when Mr. Sudhakaran was the Minister for Sports and Forest.

The Minister also said that the Government had initiated various measures to rectify shortcomings at the Sports Division here.
