Award for singer Manjari

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The award for the young music talent instituted by Swaranjali, a social, art and cultural organisation in the capital, will be presented to playback singer Manjari at a function at Vyloppilly Samskruthi Bhavan on Monday evening.

Swaranjali secretary T.N. Sreekumaran Thampi sad in a release here on Sunday that a talent meet, `Prathba Sangamom' would be organised as part of the award-presentation ceremony. Students who have won prizes in music competitions in school and higher secondary youth festivals would be honoured at the function. District Collector N. Ayyappan will inaugurate the function. A function to commemorate M.S. Subbalakshmi would be held. Pushpa, Head of the Department of Music of Kerala University, would deliver the commemorative address. Music director Ramesh Narayan, Vimala Menon, secretary, Cheshire Home, Louisa Francis, Principal, Holy Angels Convent and Samskruthi Bhavan Director K.S. Sudha will attend. The winners of youth festivals will present programmes.
