Slits her throat for allegedly having an illicit affair

  • The accused surrenders to the police
  • The victim separated from her husband 15 years ago

HYDERABAD: In a shocking incident, a youngster slit his mother's throat and killed her in Bahadur Nagar of Jeedimetla on Saturday night allegedly for having an illicit affair with a vegetable vendor in the same locality.

The youngster later surrendered to the police.

According to the police, Narayana (19), after coming to know about the alleged affair, had warned his mother M. Malini (45) and her paramour Shivraj several times.

However, on Saturday night, when he realised that his warnings were not being heeded to, he caught hold of Malini in a fit of rage and killed her.

Narayana later approached a local leader who is said to have persuaded him to surrender before the police.

Narayana is the second son of Malini, a native of Maharashtra.

The family had moved to Jeedimetla 15 years ago after Malini separated from her husband, A. Mazumdar, who works in a confectionary in Kolkata.

Both Narayana and his elder brother Lalith run a vegetable shop in the locality, where Shivraj also runs a grocery.

Police registered a case and investigation is on.
