Versatile with the brush

The paintings at the exhibition got up by amateur artist and student of the Universal Arts Painting School P. Sreenil at the Lalitakala Akademi Art Gallery here from February 26 to 28, display élan and versatility in wielding the brush.

Twelve-year - old Sreenil, a student of Class VIII at Zamorin's Higher Secondary School, has put on show 35 works in mixed media, including watercolours, glass and fabric paintings.

Sreenil has bagged the first and second prize in painting and drawing in the sub-district school youth festival. He has also won prizes in the painting contest conducted by Universal Arts and has conducted exhibitions of his paintings on earlier occasions.

On show are landscape depictions besides cartoons that mirror the thoughts in the young mind on the political scenario in the State.
