COOL SOLUTION: Education Minister E.T. Mohammed Basheer sports a hat fitted with a minature solar fan.
Minister for Education E.T. Mohammed Basheer inaugurated an `Energy Park' at the Science and Technology Museum in the city on Tuesday. The park aims to popularise the various methods and technologies available for the utilisation and promotion of non-conventional energy. The energy park, established as a joint venture between the Science and Technology Museum and the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, is equipped with various household utensils such as cookers, driers and water heaters working on solar and thermal conversion principal. The park also includes solar water pump, solar street-light system, solar traffic signalling system, wind battery charger, tidal energy extraction model, micro hydroelectric generator and water mill.
