Rural bank employees stage dharna

Say facilities provided to nationalised bank workers should be extended to them

HUBLI: Employees of regional rural banks (RRB) staged a token dharna in front of the headquarters of Karnatak Vikas Grameen Bank here on Tuesday.

The dharna was in response to a call given by the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees' Association to press for various demands of the employees and officers of regional rural banks.

Around 100 bank employees belonging to various associations here took part in the dharna.

They demanded pension and other facilities given to nationalised bank employees. They said employees of regional rural banks should get increments and promotions on time.

All vacant posts should be filled immediately, they said and demanded steps by the Government in this regard.
