Acanthus wins main event

HYDERABAD: M/s. H.P. Srivastava & L. D'Silva's Acanthus (Deep Shanker up) won the Elusive Pimpernel Plate, the main event of the races held here on Tuesday. The winner is trained by L. D' Silva. R. Lakshmikanth was adjudged champion apprentice jockey for recording seven wins.

Fines:

In the Sir Bruce Plate (Div I), jockey B.V.Krishnan (Bundle Of Roses) was fined Rs.500 for shifting in 50 m after the start, in the process causing interference to Cannon Spy (Chary). In the Elusive Pimpernel Plate, jockey Aadesh (Friendly Type) was fined Rs.1,000 for shifting in at about 1,200 m and bumping Green Passion (Chary) and thereafter shifted out causing interference to Altai (M. Ravi Shanker).

Feb. 27, Monday:

In the Coin of Silver Plate (Div II), jockey Chary (Continuity) was fined Rs.1,000 for shifting in passing 1400 m onto Fort Collins (R.Lakshmikanth) who in turn shifted in causing interference to Bon Fire (K.Anil). Jockey Qazafi (Bigwig) was fined Rs.1,000 for shifting in at about 1,200 m causing interference to Raise The Moon (N. Rawal).
