Rajkumar likely to be discharged soon

BANGALORE: The veteran actor Rajkumar was shifted out of the critical care unit (CCU) of Wockhardt Hospital and Heart Institute into a private room on Tuesday. All his vital parameters are stable, said the doctors attending on him.

The medication given for his angina and lung congestion has improved his condition considerably, said Ramana Rao, the actor's personal physician. "Rajkumar has made an excellent recovery," he said. Mr. Rajkumar is in a cheerful mood and walked through the corridor and spoke to some patients in his ward and reassured them about his recovery, said Ranganath Nayak, the hospital's interventional cardiologist.

"Looking at his progress over the last 24 hours we expect Mr. Rajkumar to get discharged from the hospital in the next two days," he added.

The actor was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning with unstable angina.
