Pragmatic, says Shiv Nadar

CHENNAI: "The Finance Minister has done a creditable job of walking the fine line between the two seemingly conflicting objectives of preserving fiscal prudence and yet continuing with the overall theme of widening the tax base with moderate rates. "I am particularly delighted to see substantial investments into the national e-governance initiative, which is positive for the Indian IT industry in terms of new business opportunities. This will also enable a more efficient tax administration in the near future. In summary, a pragmatic budget," says Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL.
