Rajahmundry: Senior BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu has said this was the first time that all parties, including the ruling party, have demanded review of Railway Budget, which has led to favouritism, disparities in allocation and done injustice to most States in terms of allocation. Addressing a press conference in Seethanagaram of East Godavari district here on Tuesday, the BJP leader said that his party also wanted to see the formation of Third Front as it will lead to division of the present UPA front through which BJP will be benefited.
Political equations
He presumed that the country will see many changes in political equations after the scheduled Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, West Bengal, Kerala and Orissa. He said that the BJP would emerge as decisive power in all these States and there would be no tie-up with any regional party in those states. However, alliances will be allowed between his party and others, depending on the local conditions. On Muslim population issue, Mr. Naidu said that all the Collectors in the country have got communiqué with regard to taking census of Muslims in all districts. He warned that the Prime Minister's proposal of self-governance in Kashmir will lead to another chaos and second partition of the country.
No control on prices
Addressing several meetings in Katheru, Thorredu, Konthamuru, Mugulla, Katavaram, Raghudevapuram, Seethanagaram, Korukonda and Srirangapatnam villages, as a part of BJP's `Palle Pilupu' programme on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu said that the governments have failed to control the prices of essential commodities. He said that the party programme is intended to remind the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Government on his election promises and failures. BJP senior leaders Dr. K. Lakshman, Baddam Balreddy and Kantipudi Sarvarayudu and others spoke in some of the meetings.
