Dharmapuri: The State Government has sanctioned Rs. 1.15 crores to construct Adhiyaman and Avvai Kottam at Adhiyamankottai near here. Construction work would begin shortly, said the Minister for Information and Publicity and Local Administration, K.P. Anbazhagan, here on Tuesday.
Health camp
Speaking at the valedictory function of the rural sports event he said that the multimedia exhibition, earlier conducted in the corporations, had been extended to the panchayat unions to showcase various Government schemes. A total of 2,566 participants in Dharmapuri Union were provided with a T-shirt, tiffin box and certificates at an outlay of Rs. 21.60 lakhs. A total of 41,103 persons were screened in the health camp conducted during the exhibition in Dharmapuri district. About 130 persons were referred to the Government Medical College Hospital in Salem for further treatment. Mr. Anbazhagan said that welfare measures amounting to Rs. 2.28 crores were disbursed to 8,090 farmers under the Farmers Security Scheme. Along with this, about 3,067 farmers were provided with assistance amounting to Rs. 78.75 lakhs during the exhibition. Similarly revolving fund worth Rs. 52.50 lakhs was distributed to 210 SHGs, including a subsidy of Rs. 21 lakhs. The Collector, M. Chandrasekaran and Project Officer, DRDA, P.M. Chandrahaasan attended the function.
