Prakash outplays WGM Harika

HYDERABAD: WGM Dronavalli Harika was handed out a surprise defeat by G.B. Prakash in the fourth round of the ONGC Cup international Grandmasters Open chess tournament at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium (Yousufguda) here on Tuesday.

It was a performance that made him joint-leader with Deepan Chakravarthy, Saptarshi Roy, Palit Somak with four points each.

More importantly, the triple-norm holder Prakash took one big step forward to earn the coveted GM title with his impressive win against Andhra girl today when the latter was outplayed in the middle-game after the Dutch defence.
