Temple `maha mandapam' work in progress

First phase construction completed at a cost of Rs.2.5 lakhs

CUDDALORE: Srikainkarya, a public charitable trust, has taken up the construction of maha mandapam at Sri Hayagreevar Temple on the Oushadhagiri hills at Thiruvaheendrapuram near here.

According to D.Soundararajan, founder and managing trustee, the first stage of construction was completed at a cost of Rs 2.5 lakhs and consecrated on February 8,2003.

In a statement released here, Mr. Soundararajan noted that the remaining construction works on maha mandapam on about 3,000 sq.ft. had been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 10 lakh.

He noted that the trust had obtained sanction from the Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment and also tax exemption for the contributions. The contributions could be made by cheque (Chennai) or by demand draft (out-station) to Srikainkarya, F-5, Chandra Flats, 90 Brindavan Street, West Mambalam, Chennai-600033.
