Budget pro-rich, says CPI(M)

Staff Reporter

KURNOOL: CPI(M) district secretary T. Shadrak termed the Union budget pro-rich, which failed drastically to support the domestic industry and generate employment. Mr. Shadrak said the budget was more favourable to multinational companies and the rich.

He said the Government, which promised Rs. 34,000 crores for rural employment guarantee allotted only Rs. 14,000 crore. The budget would widen the divide between urban and rural areas. Higher education was completely left to the care of corporate sector.
