KADAPA: Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy on Tuesday by launched Pochamreddy Ravindranath Reddy Charitable Trust in his name at Kattakinda Harijanawada urban health centre in 41st Kadapa municipal division. The trust formed with a corpus fund of Rs. 10 lakhs would initially conduct medical camps in Kadapa town, Chennur, Chintakommadinne and Siddhavatam mandals and subsequently diversify into providing education for poor, the Mayor told a press conference here. He launched the first eye care camp of the trust at the urban health centre.
Other facilities
The trust would extend medicare to poor who could not afford expensive treatment in corporate hospitals, Mr. Ravindranath Reddy said. Patients would be provided food, accommodation and medicines free of charge, he said. Urging people to safeguard their vision, he promised surgeries to cataract patients after six weeks. Medical camps would be held at Ravindranagar on March 8, at C.P. Brown Library on March 16, at Pathakadapa on March 24 and at Chandramouli High School at Nakkash on April 3, the Mayor said. Municipal Corporator Pavan Kumar hoped the trust would work on the lines of eye and blood banks set up by Megastar Chiranjeevi.
