ANANTAPUR: Penukonda legislator Paritala Sunita visited 10 women activists of the TDP lodged in the sub-jail at Reddypalli near here on Tuesday. They were brought there in the morning. She urged the jail authorities to ensure medical attention to her party activists in remand as some of them had health problems. The 10 women surrendered to a court in Dharmavaram in a case pertaining to violence during Ms. Sunita's filing of nomination for the Penukonda by-election in the second week of May last year, in which seven persons were killed and scores of others injured. After their surrender to the court they were remanded to 14 days judicial custody and were moved to the sub-jail around 7 p.m. on Monday, when the jail authorities refused to allow them in. The women were then kept in the Two Town police station on Monday night and lodged in the sub-jail on Tuesday morning. Ms. Sunita was at the jail for five minutes. The jail authorities had tense moments when she visited the jail, as all the key accused, including Suri, Moddu Sreenu and others in the murder case of her husband, Paritala Ravindra, were also lodged in the sub-jail.
