Rupee rallies smartly against dollar

MUMBAI: Overcoming severe early month-end pressures, the rupee rallied smartly on Tuesday to close sharply higher at Rs. 44.39/39 a dollar In a two-way trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee recovered by 10.50 paise from Monday's close of Rs. 44.4850/4950.
