ONGOLE: It was fun-filled education for about 350 children who participated in the Srujanotsav here for the last four days to explore their creativity and hone their skills. Jana Vignana Vedika organised the four-day festival for children studying in sixth, seventh and eighth classes in rural areas in the district to dispel superstition and nurture scientific temper among them. The children were divided into groups to learn mathematics, science, magic, drawing, theatre plays, Origami etc depending on their interests. They gave a performance of the skills they had acquired during the festival on the concluding day on Tuesday. While one child performed magic, another child swallowed burning camphor much to the horror of the audience. She wanted to demonstrate that it required no supernatural powers. District Revenue Officer B. Rama Rao, who attended as chief guest at the valedictory meeting, complimented Jana Vignana Vedika for taking up such programme to bring out latent talents among children. He asked the children to share their experiences with other children in their schools. Sarva Siksha Abhiyan assistant project coordinator, N.
