TIRUCHI: Over 1,000 members of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) from Tiruchi, Perambalur, Pudukottai and Thanjavur districts courted arrest in the city on Tuesday as part of their jail-filling agitation demanding the release of "innocent" Muslims who were languishing in various jails in the state after being arrested in connection with the Coimbatore serial bomb blasts case. Raising slogans and carrying placards, the TMMK volunteers including a good number of women courted arrest near TVS Tollgate here. The jail-filling agitation was led by the organisation's Tiruchi unit treasurer, Rehamathullah. The organisation sought compensation for the families of the arrested. All those arrested were released in the evening.
