HYDERABAD: Contradictions within the Telangana Rashtra Samithi again came to the fore in the Assembly on Tuesday when senior party legislator, S. Santosh Reddy, spoke in support of the Government embarrassing his party that has been highly critical of the ruling party of late. Participating in the debate on the budget, Mr. Reddy made two specific points that were at variance with his party's stand -- seven hour power supply was enough and there was nothing wrong in going ahead with Polavaram project but work on Inchampalli should be taken up with equal interest. His presentation was cheered by treasury benches while TDP members kept taunting him saying he spoke more like a Congress member. The only time TRS members thumped the desk was when he said he was for separate Telangana and highlighted poor spending on irrigation projects in Telangana and strict implementation of GO 610 in a time-bound manner. When he appealed to G. Venkat Reddy (Congress) not to make `provocative' statements on implementation of GO 610, the latter took strong objection. Earlier, the Congress member, Nadendla Manhoar, created a stir by comparing the vision of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy to that of former US president, John F, Kennedy's desire to see his countryman landing on the moon, overcoming all challenges.
