KARIMNAGAR: Minister for Sports M. Satyanarayana Rao, who is known for his controversial statements, is again at the centre of a controversy over his alleged remarks against the presiding deity of Vemulawada Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in the district. BJP activists burnt the effigy of the Minister in the temple town on Tuesday and demanded that he be dismissed from the Cabinet. They alleged that the Minister had sent wrong signals to devotees by his utterances. It may be recalled that the Minister had stated in Assembly lobbies that the politicians who visit the Vemulawada temple would lose their posts. Top leaders, including Kasu Brahmananda Reddy, Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy and Kanumuri Bapiraju had lost power after visiting the temple on Maha Sivaratri day, Mr. Satyanarayana Rao had said, adding it was for this reason that he avoided visiting the shrine.
