NIZAMABAD: The Nandipet police on Tuesday apprehended three people involved in making fake rubber stamps and forging signatures of several district officials. The arrested are identified as Utnoor Gangadhar of Shapoor village in Nandipet mandal, Tokala Devender of Pothangal village in Navipet mandal and Md. Riyaz of Nizamabad town. Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha presented them before the media on Tuesday. He said that the gang under the leadership of Utnoor Gangadhar approach rubber stamp makers at M.G. Computer Shop on R.P. Road, here, for making fake stamps. He said that the gang also prepared forged identity cards and certificates and used them to make gullible people believe that they could secure Government jobs. In the process, they collected Rs.16,400 from ten people. The victims have been identified as Tokala Posetty, Gone Kavitha, Yerrolla Anand Kumar, G. Naresh, Sriram Prabhakar, Venkatnarasaiah, K. Narasaiah, G. Posetty, Ch. Mamata and K. Dattu. Mr. Laddha said that the police arrested them at Nandipet bus stand under suspicious circumstances. The police recovered two mobile phones and Rs. 3,000 from the gang. A case under Section 420 and 464 IPC was registered and the accused were sent to remand.
