Hyderabad : A general alert has been sounded in the State following the landmine blast triggered by naxalites in the neighbouring Chattisgarh in which 23 persons were reportedly killed initially. Addressing the media on Tuesday, Home Minister K. Jana Reddy said the border areas would come under greater security following the `mindless act' that took the lives of innocents. Mourning the victims, he said all sections of society should come forward and condemn the `demonical act'. "It is a war between the evil and the good. Non-violence is being assaulted by violent forces. Saner minds have to cry a halt to the violence," he said. Mr. Jana Reddy said the peace initiatives of political parties and people's organisations in the neighbouring State were commendable. "Even today's attack on Salwa Zudung, a peace initiative launched by Mahendra Karma of the Congress in Chattisgarh, must not divert our attention from the real issues. Violence has no place in civil society," he said. Mr. Jana Reddy said many of the injured were admitted to the civil hospital in Bhadrachalam in Khammam district.
