Staff Reporter NIZAMABAD: The relay hunger strike launched by municipal contract workers of the Kamareddy municipal council, demanding early solution to their long pending demands, entered 51st day on Tuesday. Meanwhile, municipal chairman Kailas Srinivas held talks with the agitating workers in his chambers, this morning. However, the talks failed. According to the information reaching here, the workers did not agree to call off their hunger strike even after he assured them of solving their demands. The demands of the agitating workers include sanctioning of sanitary, streetlight maintenance and water work contracts to contract works, implementation of minimum wages, group insurance coverage, provident fund, issue of identity cards and sanction of leaves. The 150 workers were continuing the strike under the banner of the Municipal Contract Workers Cooperative Society.
