NIZAMABAD: As many as 40 residential houses were gutted at Bestawada and Vaddera street in Vellutla village of Yellareddy mandal on Tuesday night. No loss of life was reported. The reason for the fire accident was not immediately known. Fire-fighters from Yellareddy and Banswada extinguished the fire within 30 minutes. People rendered homeless were shifted to the Village Panchayat Office. Mandal Revenue Officer A. Devender Reddy, Circle Inspector Jaffer Javed and Sub-Inspector T. Lakshmikantha Reddy visited the spot to supervise rescue and relief operations. Meanwhile, District Collector D. V. Raidu sanctioned houses to the victims under the Indira Awas Yojana.
