Varsity to hold career coaching camps

Coimbatore: To help students develop personality and hone communication skills, Bharathiar University will conduct career-focused summer coaching camps for final year students.

A release said that to meet the demand for quality human resource, institutions needed to provide students with the latest communication technology tools and ways to provide complaint-free service.

Two-day fair

About 900 students who had studied commerce, business management and international business had attended a two-day career fair conducted at Kovai Kalaimagal College of Arts and Science at Narasipuram.

Scope International, a subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank, recruited 41 graduates of affiliated colleges of Bharathiar University, for banking and accounting operations.

BPO firms

At the global level, the banking sector was outsourcing its customer accounts, customer relations, foreign exchange transactions, payroll accounting and a number of routine jobs to business process outsourcing (BPO) companies. Hence, there were several opportunities for Indian BPO firms that could consistently offer `zero error' service, the release added.
