Factional feud to the fore in producers body

CHENNAI:
Members of "rival factions' in the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council on Tuesday were involved in a tussle in full view of the media.
The tussle is between one group that supports the president Thyagarajan and those opposed to his working in office.
No-confidence motion
The council's working committee, which met on Monday adopted a no-confidence motion against the president and also decided to send a show cause notice to him.
On Tuesday `Sathya Jothi' Thygarajan and his supporters came to the office of the council and started to work. They were gheraoed by members of the other group.
A minor tussle ensued in the presence of mediapersons.
Later, both sides met the Greater Chennai police Commissioner and presented a memorandum.
According to the police, both sides have requested police protection for their members.
