MANGALORE: Personnel of the Dakshina Kannada District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) raided a hotel room near the railway station at Attavar here on Monday and arrested three persons on charge of illegal possession of ganja with an intention to sell it. Police recovered 1.25 kg of ganja and implements used to pack them estimated at Rs. 20,000. Those arrested include Satish Natarajan (31) of Kerala, Asif alias J.D. Asif (30) of Kasba Bengre and Mohammed Hasim (24) of Kandak. Satish, who hails from Kerala, allegedly brought ganja from Kerala and supplied it to Asif and Hasim who in turn used to sell it. Satish is at present facing trial on a case of drug peddling registered against him by the Mangalore South (Pandeshwar) police station. All three accused have been handed over to the Mangalore South police for investigation, a release from Superintendent of Police B. Dayananda said on Tuesday. In another case, the Mangalore North (Bunder) Police arrested Abdul Rahman (43) on Tuesday from the Bunder area and recovered 165 gm of ganja.
