Honour for dance therapy expert

BANK OFFICER and dance therapy expert A.V. Satyanarayana of Bangalore has received one more honour; a doctorate for his research on classical dance as a therapy by the International Open University for Complementary Medicine in Sri Lanka.

He is the first dancer from India to get this recognition.

Mr. Satyanarayana has been invited in the past to demonstrate dance as therapy, especially for expectant mothers, at medical conferences in India and overseas.

The Indian Council for Medical Research has also invited him to Delhi to show how some of the classical dance steps and gestures can help in healing chronic ailments including depression and repetitive stress disorders many IT professionals suffer from.
