Painter killed in road accident

BANGALORE: A 45-year-old painter was killed when a lorry knocked down the bicycle he was riding near Yogeshwara Nagar in Yelahanka traffic police station limits on Monday night. Police gave the name of the deceased as Shayam of Tannery Road. The Yelahanka traffic police have registered a case.

Burglary

Ornaments worth Rs. 20,000 were stolen from a house in Lakshmidevi Nagar in Rajagopal Nagar police station limits on Monday night.

According to police, S. Kumar locked the house and went to a hospital to visit his a relative. When he returned he found that somebody had entered his house and taken away gold ornaments and other articles.

In another incident, gold and other articles were stolen from a house on Ganganagar Main Road in R.T. Nagar police station limits on Monday night. The incident occurred when Ananda Rao went to Chennai.

Huts gutted

Four huts were destroyed in a fire reported in Kiriyamma Circle in Soolibele in Devanahalli police station limits of Bangalore Rural district on Sunday night. There were no reports of casualties, police said.

Arrested

The Seshadripuram police have arrested two persons on charges of stealing mobile phones and recovered three mobile phones from them. The accused had allegedly stolen mobile phones from a software engineer and some college students in Seshadripuram. The police gave the names of the arrested as Vinod Raj (24) and Rajesh (20), both from K.P. Agrahara.
