The Cell has, however, clarified that if a consensus is not arrived at with the private college managements, the CET format will not be applicable to seats in unaided minority and non-minority colleges. While the test for Biology will be held on May 9 from 10.30 a.m. to 11.50 a.m., that for Mathematics is scheduled for the same day between 2.30 p.m. and 3.50 p.m. The tests for Physics and Chemistry will be held on May 10 in the morning and afternoon sessions respectively. The Kannada Language Test for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates will start at 11 a.m. on May 11. The aptitude test for Architecture course is scheduled for May 12 from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. (Part I) and from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. (Part II). The CET rank will be the basis for admission to first year medical, dental, ayurveda, homoeopathy, unani, naturopathy & yoga, engineering and technology courses. Provided a consensus is reached with private managements, the CET will also determine the candidates for the seats filled by the State Government in unaided minority and non-minority institutions.
Merit list
This year, the merit list of candidates for admission to medical and dental courses will be determined only on the basis of marks obtained in the physics, chemistry and biology papers of the CET. For all other courses, the merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the respective optional subjects, in both the qualifying examination and the CET taken in equal proportions. For Architecture courses, the merit list will be based on the marks obtained in both the qualifying examination and the two aptitude tests taken in equal proportions.
Application forms
The brochure with the application form will be supplied through schools and colleges where the candidates had studied or appeared for the 12th standard or II PUC examination, on submission of a demand draft for Rs. 550 to the principals in advance. The DD should be drawn in favour of "The Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore," payable at Bangalore. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category-1, the amount is Rs. 400. The last date for submission of the DD to the principals of schools and colleges within Karnataka is March 16. Application forms and brochures are expected to reach the respective schools and colleges by March 21.
