COIMBATORE: Bank of Baroda is conducting a special campaign here till March 31 to recover the dues of small agricultural loans disbursed during the last 10 years.
Settlements
Its General Manager, South Zone, G.G. Joshi, told presspersons here recently that a number of these loanees were not able to borrow now as they had not repaid the earlier loan. The objective was to arrive at settlements and make them eligible again for loans.
Powers delegated
The bank had delegated powers to the branch heads too to arrive at settlements during this period. Mr. Joshi said that the Bank hoped to recover at least 50 per cent of the outstanding amount through this campaign. It also planned to come out with rural ATMs. It was being developed by the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. The Bank had 89 ATMs in the four southern States and this would go up to 100 by the March -end.
Core Banking Solutions
Core Banking Solutions would be rolled out in 22 branches in the zone by the end of this fiscal, he said. A special campaign on housing loans was also on till March 31.
