Wins moot court contest

KOCHI: The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) has won the best team award at the 10th All-India Moot Court competition held at University Law College in Bangalore. Rohith Rajendran, Mridul M. Kumbalath and Sarah Ann Abraham represented NUALS in the competition. — Staff Reporter

Painting `protest'

Kochi: Paintings by children were exhibited on Wednesday as part of a month-long protest organised by Save Indal Trade Union Samithi demanding re-opening of the Hindalco smelter unit at Alupuram here. Noted artist T. Kaladharan inaugurated the event. — Staff Reporter

Kochi Refineries gesture

Kochi: Kochi Refineries will supply computer and other electronic equipment to the Primary Health Centre at Mulavukad, K.V. Thomas, MLA, said in a release. He said that Kottayam Medical College authorities had agreed to provide trainees for the physiotherapy unit at the centre. — Staff Reporter

New KSRTC service

Kochi: A KSRTC bus service from the city to Chennoor will be inaugurated on March 8. The service has been introduced as part of the Sutharya Keralam project launched by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. — Staff Reporter

NEDUMBASSERY: P.C. Philip took charge as the new Emigration SP of the Cochin International Airport on Wednesday. He had earlier served as Deputy Superintendent of Police with the Special Branch in Kottayam. He succeeds K. Sadasivan who retired from service last month. — A Correspondent
