Rupee edges down
MUMBAI:
The rupee on Thursday closed mildly lower at 44.37/38 a dollar after sustained dollar demand from oil corporates amid a resurgent dollar overseas prevented a possible extended rally on the back of strong foreign portfolio investment inflows into a buoyant stock market.
In two-way trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee shed a paisa from Wednesday's close of 44.36/37 after another surge in crude oil prices fuelled persistent heavy dollar demand from oil corporates and importers. PTI
