Parliamentary board of BJP to meet on March 10
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI
: The Bharatiya Janata Party parliamentary board will meet on March 10 to finalise the party's candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections and the assembly polls in five States in April-May.
At a meeting of general secretaries chaired by party president Rajnath Singh, it was decided to postpone the scheduled national executive committee meeting in Guwahati at the end of March. That meeting will now take place after the election process is completed.
In fact, Guwahati was selected for holding the national executive committee meeting keeping in view the elections in Assam. The idea was to boost the party's prospects in the State through the presence of some 150 senior leaders.
However, the early April polling dates for Assam have forced the party change its plan.
