NEW DELHI:
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has decided to take up in public interest the case of alleged malpractices in the results of the Post Graduate courses for 2006 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry had on Wednesday decided to refer the case to the CBI following complaints of malpractice in the results of the Post Graduate courses for 2006 at AIIMS, the results of which were announced recently. The CBI will register a case and start investigations shortly.
The results have been put on hold and the counselling scheduled from March 3 has been postponed, according to an official spokesperson.
The complaints had been received from aspirants alleging widespread malpractices in examination centres at Chennai.
The students have been advised through e-mail not to undertake any journey for the purpose of counselling. Fresh dates for counselling would be announced later.
